Phil Jackson left New York Knicks

The New York Knicks will no longer have veteran coach Phil Jackson.

Jackson and the executive chairperson of the team Jim Dolan announced this.

Jackson's term ends as the team’s President of Basketball Operations.

Dolan also said that Jackson's senior officials agreed on his departure.

In March 2014, the Knicks took Jackson's service aiming to improve the team’s performance but things did not go as expected.

Phil Jackson has 13 NBA championships as player and coach, and 1996 Coach of the Year awards under his belt.

The Knicks continue to look for a replacement for Jackson's vacant spot with the aim of improving their standing for the next season.
